Description/Job Summary

Maintains facilities and repairs physical structures of internal and external buildings.       
Maintains grounds/equipment and specific systems by performing the following duties: 
Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
  • Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from the supervisor, manager, or lead person.
  • Preventive maintenance (PM) of water chiller along with daily checks (including portable water chillers), water tower along with daily checks, air compressors and dryers along with daily checks, and waste water treatment and filtration system.
  • Repairs of distribution center (DC) equipment such as wrappers, tape machines, lights, etc. 
  • Performs minor and routine painting to interior and exterior walls and trim
  • Performs simple carpentry tasks including but not limited to patching or replacing walls, ceilings or trim of buildings
  • Performs preventive maintenance schedules as required.
  • Maintains and repairs buildings’ plumbing and electrical systems to include replacing worn or damaged parts in specific equipment used to maintain facilities.
  • Assists with the maintenance of HVAC to include Freon application and minor preventive maintenance, calibration, repairs to pumps and/or compressors, cleans/replaces filters as required.
  • Assists other departments with moving furniture and assembly of other components.
  • Spreads salt and shovels snow from walks, employee entrances, and driveways using snow removal equipment when applicable.
  • Cleans grounds, removes litter, waters shrubs, cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
  • Repairs fences, gates, walls, walks, doors, and door locks.
  • Paints fences and outbuildings.
  • Regular, reliable attendance with the ability to work outside the normal work schedule is required. This may require additional hours as business demand dictates.
  • Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED plus a minimum two years of experience in facilities maintenance for Industrial or Commercial properties; demonstrated skills in predictive and preventative maintenance; MIG welding experience preferred, electrical experience up to 480 VAC, plumbing, basic carpenter skills, Class 1H3 certification for Freon application preferred, familiarity with electrical panels and how they distribute power to branch circuits.
