Description/Job Summary

Maintain facilities and repairs physical structures of internal and external buildings.       
Maintains grounds/equipment and specific systems by performing the following duties: 
Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
  • Receive written work orders or verbal instructions from the Facilities Manager.
  • Perform minor and routine painting to interior and exterior walls and trim
  • Perform simple carpentry tasks including but not limited to patching or replacing walls, ceilings or trim of buildings
  • Perform preventive maintenance schedules as required.
  • Maintain and repair buildings’ plumbing and electrical systems to include replacing worn or damaged parts in specific equipment used to maintain facilities.
  • Assist with the maintenance of HVAC to include Freon application and minor preventive maintenance, calibration, repairs to pumps and/or compressors, clean/replace filters as required.
  • Assist other departments with moving furniture and assembly of other components.
  • Spread salt and shovel snow from walks, employee entrances, and driveways using snow removal equipment when applicable.
  • Cleans grounds and remove litter.
  • Water shrubs.
  • Repair fences, gates, walls, and walks.
  • Paint fences and outbuildings.
  • Clean out drainage ditches and culverts.
  • Regular, reliable attendance with the ability to work outside the normal work schedule is required. This may require additional hours as business demand dictates.
  • Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High school education; minimum two years experience in facilities maintenance for Industrial or Commercial properties; demonstrated skills in predictive and preventative maintenance; MIG welding experience preferred, electrical experience up to 480 VAC, plumbing, basic carpenter skills, Class 1H3 certification for Freon application preferred, familiarity with electrical panels and how they distribute power to branch circuits.
