Description/Job Summary

Reports to: Vice President of Operations    FLSA Status: Exempt                      
                             
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for directing and managing operations for production.
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with department managers to insure that manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Responsible for implementing cost effective systems of control over operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
  • Set up and/or approves production schedules in the various departments to ensure that goals are met and finished goods inventories and shipments are maintained at the proper levels. 
  • Control flow of materials and utilization of labor to ensure adequate production levels.
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and training to staff to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  • Maintain an ongoing check on quality of material; final blends, running temperatures, and amount of re-mill usage needed for quality finish product
  • Review daily/weekly production reports.
 
Job Specific Skills:         
  • Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
 
Experience and Education:
  • Prefer Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment – prefer knowledge in blown film plastics industry
  • Previous work experience in a leadership role

  • Attention to Detail - Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Dependability - Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
  • Independence - Job requires developing one's own ways of doing things, guiding oneself with little or no supervision, and depending on oneself to get things done.
