I.                    POSITION OBJECTIVE

Assist personnel in welder workstations in producing a good quality product safely and efficiently; by conducting quality and safety checks along with stacking, packaging and troubleshooting machines to ensure productivity needs.

 

II.                 QUALIFICATIONS

*High school graduate or equivalent.

*Have good oral and written communication skills.

*Available for overtime.

*Complete basic math such as adding, dividing, subtracting, percentages, etc.

*Train on different Machinery and different lines as needed.

*Must be able to read a ruler to 1/16”

*Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks

 

 

III.              TRAINING

*Organizational structures and department function.

                        Example:  Coroplast organizational chart

            *THM training - 5S housekeeping requirements, OCS, Recycling, Safety

                        Example:  OCS Pledge; pinch points of machine; machine guarding; etc.

            *ISO document control compliance and revision statuses when applicable

                        Example: Standard work instructions; Workstation quality check sheets; production reports, etc

         *Able to operate and perform minor maintenance on all welder machines.

 

IV.              AUTHORITY/DECISION MAKING

*Machine adjustments, start up and shut downs due to production hazards or quality aspects.

 He/she has the authority to notify any and all other applicable personnel of unsafe practices or concerns.  He/she has the responsibility to report unsafe practices.

           

 

 

 

V.        DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

A.  JOB TASKS & DUTIES

 

*Ensure that the workplace is safe, professional, and clean by upholding company “THM” practices [i.e. 5S, OCS, Safety, Recycle] established plant wide and for the department.

Examples include, but are not limited to, emptying the trash, sweeping floors and mezzanine areas, etc.

* Fill out all paperwork neatly and accurately.  [i.e. quality check and production tickets]

*Assist in running and the upkeep of the machine and set ups for production runs.

Examples include, but are not limited to cleaning the machine,, doing product checks, visually monitor and observe for any arising machining or safety issues, etc.

*Wear required personal protective equipment.

*Participate in product development efforts as opportunity presents.

*Assist in Trial production which can include actions in machine set ups or other trial activities.

            *Notify lead or supervisor of any issues or defects.

*Assist fellow coworkers as needed to maintain levels of production.

*Machines responsible are sonic welders, hand welders, hot air welders, hand held glue machine, and

possibly other machines as requested.                                      

            *Assist with periodic inventory sessions as needed.

            *Perform other duties as requested by management.

*Light Maintenance tools

*Hot air welder, hand welder and sonic welders.

*Wire frames and welding supplies.

*Knives (utility and trim knives)

*Light Measuring Devices (tape measures etc.)

 

                                C.  PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

A.      Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.  Body agility is emphasized.

 

B..     Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist.

 

D.      Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.

 

E.      Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.

 

F.      Reaching, extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

 

H.      Standing, particularly for sustained periods of time.

 

J.       Pushing, using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

 

K.      Pulling, using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.

 

L.      Lifting, raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.

M.     Fingering, picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling.

 

N.      Grasping, applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.

 

O.      Feeling, perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

 

P.      Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; via face to face or telephone.

 

Q.      Repetitive motions, substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

 

D.  VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

 

Keep in mind that color, depth perception and field of vision is pertinent to requirements. 

 

A.      Machine operation, inspection, close assembly, clerical and administrative duties.

Example:  Preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, transcription, data entry, CRT exposure, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, using measurement devices or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

 

E.      Position requires individual to differentiate colors, depth and perception.

 

 

                E.  WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION

 

 

A.      Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.

 

 

 

H.      Subject to hazards such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat or explosives.
