Reclaim Operator: Position Grade C (Entry-level)
 
Position Objective
Operate in a safe and efficient manner so as to be a productive, while maintaining high quality.
 
Training

Duties & Responsibilities
Task and Duties
  • Safety – complies with all written and verbal safety rules of the plant and department including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Complete housekeeping assignment per schedule.
  • Run extruder without supervision.
  • Safety operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other lifting equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by Area Coordinator.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
  • Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.
 
Machinery and Electrical Devices Used
  • Forklift.
  • Material handling system.
  • Overhead cranes.
  • Hand tools.
  • Scales.
 
Physical and Visual Activity Required
Physical
  • Climbing, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and the like using feet and legs and / or hands and arms.
  • Stooping, bending body downward and forward by bending spine and waist. Example: changing paper in printer, copier machine.
  • Kneeling, bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching, bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Reaching, extending hand (s) and arm (s) in any direction. Example: giving signals, reaching for material or handle on item.
  • Standing, particularly for sustained periods in time. Example: making copies, giving presentations, directing traffic.
  • Walking, moving out on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.

  • Balancing, maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces.
  • Crawling, moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
  • Pulling, using upper extremities to exert force in order to drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Pushing, using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
 
Visual
  • Machine operation, inspection, close assembly, clerical, and administrative duties. Example: preparing and analyzing data entry, CRT exposure, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, using measurements devices or fabrication of parts at distance close to the eyes.
  • Mobile equipment operations, operate cars, trucks.
  • Position requires individual to differentiate colors, depth, and perception.
 
Work Environment Conditions
  • Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions not necessarily temperature conditions.
  • Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.
  • Inside and outside environments apply.
  • Subject to extreme cold, temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
  • Subject to extreme heat, temperature above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
  • Subject to noise causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
  • Subject to hazards, such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat or combustible materials.
  • Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by orders, fumes, gases, poor ventilation and dusts.

  • Complete housekeeping assignment per schedule.
  • Perform all assigned duties.
  • Setup extruder line per SOC – start up line.
  • Run extruder without supervision.
  • Fill out paperwork.
  • Change out blades on densifier and palletizer.
  • Other duties as assigned by Area Coordinator.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
  • Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.

  • Monitor product quality.
  • Assist maintenance personnel during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Area Coordinator.
  • Job color and change.
  • Operate and run the material conveyor, shredder, extruder and Pellatizer.
  • Operate the weighing station and metering unit.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and product labeling.
  • Capable of switching to silo required or switch to box production.
  • Safely operate the baler to make bales.
  • Must have regular, reliable attendance, and willing to work outside the regular schedule as required.
  • Willing to handle job stress and interact with others in the workplace.
